Former Notre Dame runner Yared Nuguse continues to make his mark as a professional distance runner. Nuguse won Saturday's Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games in New York City with an indoor world record time of 3 minutes and 46.63 seconds.

The previous record held by Yomif Kejelcha since 2019 was 3:47:01. Second-place finisher Hobbs Kessler (3:46.90) was also under the previous record time.

This is Nuguse's third straight Wanamaker Mile victory.
