We were finally able to track down College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy running back Elijah Holyfield to get his thoughts on his recent visit to Notre Dame. He and I went pretty in-depth on the topic and I think you can get a clear idea of where the Irish stand after reading the story below.
Holyfield isn't quite ready to release a top five or cut his list, but based on the information I have, I think Auburn, Florida and Tennessee are in his top tier, with Notre Dame, USC and Oregon in the next tier. Obviously there's a long way to go here, but that gives you an idea of where things stand today.
