Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford wasn't going to let El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge three-star quarterback Ian Book go on vacation without seeing Notre Dame. The former Washington State commit visited South Bend last Wednesday, was offered a scholarship, and then committed to Sanford and the Irish on Tuesday night.
"I just fell in love with Notre Dame," Book said. "I got the whole campus tour on the visit and I went into [head coach] Brian Kelly's office. He offered me a scholarship and I told him that I just needed sometime to think things over with my family.
"I really wasn't thinking about visiting any other schools, but then Notre Dame popped up and with the tradition they have, it was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up."
