They can make this a three score game here before half... we need Stanford domination.....
I dislike Stanford as well, but they are very good. Wa D is legit - I watched WA D shut down SC. Stanford is about to go up 17 - 0 here before the half. Wa. has their backup QB playing and cant do anything. But, the fact Stanford is moving the ball and scoring against a dam good defense is impressive. McCaffery (sp) is the real deal. Hogan is solid.
Those were important points. It is starting to really look like a slugfest. Washington is stout on D..... this second half is going to be good.....Petersen always has something up his sleeve....
B.Shaw is a great coach. He can be too conservative at times and that sometimes hurts him and Stanford. But, for the most part a very sound and solid H.C.
cgvr, would love to see Petersen pull something out of his ass, but his QB seems pretty weak - it's amazing what a good QB means to an offense. Also, we do need Stanford to keep rolling. We want them to be a 1 loss team and ranked as high as they can be when we play them. They will be a bitch to beat in Palo Alto.

oh yeah. if both nd and Stanford win out they should both be in the top 6 by then.could be one for the ages.
He is off the charts crazy good. He breaks ankles all day and has surprising power when he needs to bull for yards.... throw in Sanders.... wow...
The TE crew and FB Marx are workhorses....
I was on the sidelines at MV a few years back and noted Marx size. I said, "he reminds me of Csonka...." the guy I was with said, "he's bigger". This kid gives body all day and reminds me a bit of Rathman's blocking.... At 255 plus he is fearless and has good speed.
Stanford's "system" will stand the test of time. The current "fad" of using 5 receivers and TEs as wide receivers has been around forever.....Coryell......
