And the defense less so. I've watched all but one of their games this year, and the offense is the best in many years. Sure doesn't look like the typical Stanford Oregon game with sped and finesse versus discipline and power. Stanford is more multi dimensional this year than in years past. This McCaffrey kid is really impressive, and he will outright shred our defense if we don't quickly develop better position discipline, and leave our arm tackling back in South Bend. Should be a high scoring affair. We obviously need to take care of business against BC, but what a great way to spend Thanksgiving weekend.

A solid program

35-23 Oregon after 3 quarters. Stanfords defense looks slow and struggles to make plays in space against a really average Oregon team. I LOVE ND,s Spread Offense in this match up

ND,s strength is its Front Seven and I like that match up as well.

Refs tried to help Stanford while Hogan was crapping the bed, but they fell short. ND will need some help now and obviously to beat BC and Stanford which will be tough.

Hogan is a Jekyll & Hyde type of player.
One game he lights it up, the next he looks really bad.

If ND puts pressure on him, he will crumble. I also like our offensive
speed vs. Stanford's defense.

Will it be a tough game? More than likely. But Stanford is not a
juggernaut. They are certainly beatable.

SouthBender...not a big fan of Hogan's, but I disagree with your characterization that he will crumble under pressure. I agree with your Jekyll & Hyde characterization, but I don't think this corresponds with defenses that bring pressure. He is very mobile and throws with great accuracy on the run, better than any QB we've faced this year. That said, you never know which Hogan is going to show up on any given game day. If the good Hogan shows up, we are in for a very tough game at Stanford. I stand by my characterization of their offense being very good and their defense being less so. I think we can and will outscore them, but when Hogan is on his game and McCafferty running wild, they are a very tough team to beat.

True points, one and all, but the key phrase is "IF Hogan is on his game"...
Seems to me that he's off his game more than he's on it. He is very pedestrian.

Case in point, last years game at UND. He was not impressive at all. We can
and will shut him down.
