Is the OP about Stanford football, Brian Kelly and Brady Quinn? Stanford looked great last night. Kelly could have coached better and I don't know how Quinn did last night.
Well, there are some posters on this board that also talk about Kelly not running the ball enough and that you have to be patient with the running game to give it a chance.
I would agree that seeing the box loaded probably opened up the middle of the field but you still have to run the ball to keep the defense honest. You just can't abandon it altogether.
The 91 yard TD by Prosise vs. Georgia Tech saw a similar alignment. GT had most of their defense up at the line of scrimmage but when he broke through there was no one at the second level and he was gone.
there is a matter of good judgement to apply; if a teams strategy is obvious and apparent to everyone in the stadium and TV world then it should be 'notuced' by the genius on the sidelines!
