So with Kizer starting . . .

How long till we see Wimbush playing this season? Might as well play him also.

They have already said the redshirt on him won't happen. You have to have him ready at this point. I mean if Kizer's helmet comes off for a play or takes an odd hit and has to sit for a play. You have to have the next option prepared.

You don't change the holder, especially with a freshman kicker. We will just take the risk.

I agree 100%. Stick with Kizer for this season but have someone else take snaps at practice "just in case". Either that or we go for two every darn time.

Obviously ND needs to pull out a win against GT.

This team better be able to put it to Umass first half. I'd like to see Wimbush get the call second half or rotate some series the whole game. If they can't put it to Mass they are in trouble. This team lost to Colorado by 28. I'd say keep Kizer as holder until there is someone else that Yoon is comfortable with.

of all the games left, only UMass and WF look like a 'breathers'; without total effort every other game, any one of them could result in a 'L'

All apologies to DK, but I think we see Wimbush Saturday and he won't be the holder. This kid's a QB.

IB posted a short video before the season started with each of the 3 QB's throwing a pass. What stood out to me was Wimbush's release. It was MUCH quicker than either of the other QB's. With that arm and these receivers, this could still be a great year.

How much of the offense can Wimbush have down? If I'm not mistaken he was not an early enrolee. Tough spot to put the kid in right now and it seems like Kizer will be just fine now that he got the worst of the butterflies out. Throwing that last pass on the money is huge.

Agree that pass was huge and it's important to keep his confidence up. But Kelly seems to have a knack for that so I'm confident he can do it again. Neither played with the first team so they are basically equal right now. Let Wimbush have a few downs and then it's even. Both of them are put in a tough spot, but really, that's part of the job they signed up for.

This thread is a great example of why we are on message boards and the coaching staff is making decisions which are best for the Notre Dame team. I have great confidence that Kelly and Co. will make the right decisions and that we are likley to see DK play the vast majority of the GT game.

The key here will be the defense stopping the option and DK will have little to say about that. Just get some points on the board, run the ball behind a large and formidable OL and the Irish will do just fine as SK gets more comfortable learning the offense and settling in as qb at ND.

Yeah, but up until Monday a QB getting a few third team reps in practice. If we are going to need Wimbush, pray its not for a few weeks. No way he's ready to play now.
