A recent SI issue had a short fan comment saying ND was wrong to be picked as a PLAYOFF team. In the same issue was a pic of Rashan Gary from Paramus Catholic as uncommitted. I hope BK and the team understand that the 2015 season is all about RESPECT. Winning earns RESPECT. Playing great defense earns RESPECT. Beating two option teams earns RESPECT. A smash-mouth OLine earns RESPECT. Is Notre Dame Football back under Coach Kelly? Was 2012 a fluke season? Can Day & Jaylon, & Tarean, & Malik & Fuller & Max show everyone that ND is really back? Will Gary WANT to play for the Irish?

JUST WIN BABY!!!

BEAT texas---bad!!!

The score in the first half alone of the ND-Bama game tells you everything about the 2012 season.

ND experienced the perfect scenario in the final 3 weeks of the season. Teams that had to lose, lost.
ND got a call vs Stanford, albiet the correct call, as a visiting team that usually goes to the home team.

The end of it all was that ND proved to be about the 4th to 6th best team; not too too shabby!
A top 10 finish in 15 would be great!

ND? Or Bama? Bama was the one who squeezed into the BCSCG because Oregon and K-State lost late games.

The Stanford game was in South Bend. ND earned their way to NC game.

I REALLY get tired of people saying ND didn't deserve to be in the NC game. They were the only undefeated major outside of OSU who was on probation. That OSU team would have been beaten worse by the Alabama team that beat ND by four scores. Heck, Indiana put 48 on that team. Imagine how many Bama would have scored.

Yes, they played there worst game of the year in the NC game, and yes there were a couple of major distractions that contributed to that 4 score loss. Yet, we must remember, that Alabama team was probably the best college team in the last ten years. Now we know they had at least one player (Flucker) that was being paid by boosters, but all that means is bama people are honest when they say, "if you aren't cheating, you aren't competing."

Bottom line, ND was undefeated and deserved to be in that game.

Had KSU won that final game it would have been ND vs. KSU.....ND probably wins that and becomes National champs. KSU didn't, ND ran into a very hot and very big stage experienced bama team. One thing I did notice in that game. Notre Dame had some skill position players that could play with bama no problem.

So Kelly is getting this in the right motion. Of course the following year the Golson cheating debacle happened.

Ok. The assumption above is that Alabama was a much better team than ND in 12. Ok. I get the score certainly shows that ]; maybe. However, let's recall the bizarre behavior of Kelly apparently contacted to having a shot at a pro job. ND was clearly not prepared well and was not ready to play. I am wondering if the game at been played after a normal week break the score would have been as bad???

As the OP let me clarify MY feelings about 2012. It was a MAGICAL season!!!! And I love remembering every game except the last. And yes based on how other teams seasons ended ND absolutely deserved to be in the Championship. But I also understand the "feeling" out there among non-Domers that until ND gets back.....2012 was a "fluke".

BEAT the longhorns!!!

we probably will really never have the answer as to the "deserving" thing because the peripheral circumstances surrounding both TE'O and Kelly seemed to affect the preparation of the team and game plan.

It was clear early on that the ND team looked ill prepared for Bama. Bama had more of everything, but ND lacked focus and prep for that game.
