The "Random Name Game" is some of the most hilariously entertaining bits this board has going. Names come and go then reappear again. Names come out of nowhere. I'm glad this board is not in charge of hiring or firing anyone.

But fans need hope. Why not come up with different coaching names. Kelly has done a terrible job coaching this year. If he comes back next year the same thing is going to happen. I am sure, if he is competent, Swarbrick has a list of names to look at. Of course we aren't in charge of hiring coaches nor should we be but we need something positive to look at. The positive things are not happening on Saturdays. Most nonND fans I know think the Irish need a new coach.

He not going to do anymore in his career than he's already done at Northwestern.
He's won 10 games twice- a also had a 9 win season.
Everyone holds Randy Walker in such high regard. His best season was 8 wins.
Guess how many 10 win seasons Notre Dame has had since 1993?
"4". That's right- "4".

He's young, energetic, 10 years of head coaching experience at a high academic institution, a tough guy, defensive background and has
Won 9 games and 10 games twice at Northwestern. What could he do with our roster of 4 star guys everywhere?

To me~ after 2017 is over which should be after the Georgia game at home- he definitely should be a serious target.

here is the thing, I been on this issue, warning of this eventuality based upon the recruiting of 3 years?
It was going to show up on the field of play; it has and looks like it will not improve in the immediate future.
I have gone head to head with IIO debating this when he posts those lenghty diatribes about depth with proposed lineups etc. But you guys kept buying in because it those rose colored sunglasses!

I understand the frustration. We are all frustrated and many of us don't feel that BK is capable of taking this program to the next step (however we want to define that). I personally think the team was badly coached by everyone on the staff this season. Mistakes were made from day one and no adjustments were made. Players weren't developed and coaching decisions were head scratchers for sure. What's funny are all the names that are thrown out , some are real puzzlers, without any knowlege or understanding of these candidates other than stats. Stats don't always tell the story. Until Jack S says otherwise, ND has a HC. Anything else is just speculation and just adds gossip fuel to the fire which message boards are already notoriously known for anyway. And, I might be alone on this, I just wonder how many recruits read this board and take all this nonsense as gospel.

Bodi - At this point in time, it's almost easier to name the coaches that HAVEN'T been suggested as a replacement. Names are just thrown out based upon very little factual evidence. For instance, people seeing one game where somebody beat somebody where they were an underdog. Yeah, that's the guy to run the ND program.

well, that was a simple interpretation. Due dilegence and a thorough investigation and then you take your best shot. If you wanted a guarantee, how did the Kelly thing turn out!
