You guys did get the memo that he's coming as a preferred walk on so it's not costing us a scholarship. Scout has him as a 3 star inside linebacker from Tennessee. I don't think Rivals ever evaluated him. He's a depth project that could make the program stronger without ever seeing the field or maybe he could one day.

Yes Ara, I get that "walk on" means not a hit to the scholarship cap. I think this fact is widespread enough that your sardonic memo comment isn't called for. I get his value as a 4th-5th string LB who adds depth, shows a great look to the offense, and could see the field on special teams or maybe even get a scholarship awarded someday. But I'm not going to be giddy over this. Give me Hayes and/or McCollough at LB and I'll sing a different tune. Great job, BK; you got a solid walk on that'll help the program in some way, just like you're supposed to do...now go get some 5* recruits and beat a few more top 25 teams.

Putz? Who fired the first shot? I know it's a good walk on pickup and I said as much. I am just not going to get excited over it. Kareem committing, Heck yeah. If the kid ends up being a major contributor and makes headlines, I'll be more than happy to eat crow. If not, oh well. He's a walk on who will get one heckuva education and experience.
