I thought this was more of a Gerald Parker thing and I'm surprised to see how much Denbrock uses it. The ND O-line are undersized and inexperienced at some positions. They are constantly inviting 8 in the box and still try to run and not check to anything on the outside. If NIU and Miami of Ohio for the most part can stop you anyone else can. It's mind numbing to watch.

ND has had plenty of success running out of bunch formations this year.

If the defense wants to load the box then they can. It doesn’t matter which formation the offense uses.

I’d be if I were to count how many times ND has been stopped for negative to no gain on early downs it would > 10 times against MAC schools. I’ll need to rewatch the Purdue game but I thought they spreaded it out more and misdirected?

We had 270 yds rushing on 36 carries against Miami - 7.5 ypc. That's not bad against any team.

You might be right on your number but I’m not sure if it’s a bad thing because how many times did ND have success out of these formations? I don’t know the numbers.

NIU ran the ball effectively against ND with TE’s just like ND has at times.

ND tried an end around with a bunch formation against Purdue that only gained two yards. Had the play been blocked better, the play would have gained more yards. As always, scheme and execution is what counts. There’s usually going to be a reason for which ND aligns in a particular formation.

The offense and QB are getting better and more use to the new system. Great time for bye week!
