RIP to the 2nd greatest pitcher to ever step on the mound (behind Steve Carlton) Roy "Doc" Halladay. May our Irish have the will to dominate their opponent every time they step foot on the field like this man did. One of the best competitors I have ever seen in any sport. In honor of Doc's perfect game in Miami, our Irish will dominate the Canes. Go Phillies, go Irish!

Lifelong Blue Jays fan here. Baseball is my first love as a sport and Doc was my favourite Blue Jay of all time. My dad and I travelled to Toronto countless times to watch him dominate for our Jays over the years. Met him twice and have an autographed Halladay Jersey. Best pitcher of his generation and the nastiest cutter I've ever seen. Standup guy, intense competitor and one of Toronto's most beloved adopted sons.

Rest easy Doc. Thanks for the experiences you friggen horse!

Beautifully said, watching his perfect game right now on tv

Rest in Peace Doc. One of the nicest person on and off the field. Even on all those terrible Jays teams, he never once bad mouth anyone, teammates or management. Never whine, pout or threw in the towel. A true champion at heart.

He was playing with fire. Crazy behavior. I feel terrible for the family!

4 complete game losses in a single season. Those Jays teams could not hit to save their lives but Doc gave them everything he had every time out and never once publically complained. Kept winning 20 games in spite of how poor his team was.

I was the biggest bandwagon Phillies fan watching him chase his ring. I watched his perfect game in the playoffs at a beyond packed bar in Toronto with a legion of Jays fans who were watching their favourite son win with somebody else. That's how much he was loved in Toronto. That bar was LOUD and with every out it progressed. You would have never known we were cheering for another team.

One of the better pitchers in my lifetime. Sorry I do have him definetly behind Pedro Marinez. Also IMO Randy Johnson. Regardless a HOF pitcher who died way too young. God Speed!

WTF were these two thinking? I just realized as a life long NY'ER why I hate Boston, http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...sts-mock-roy-halladay-death-article-1.3620172
He was getting his jollies. When you get married and have kids you can't be so irresponsible. Because of his actions there is another widow and 2 fatherless kids. Pathetic.

I watched the infomercial he made about that plane. His wife’s in it. I wish I knew that going in or else I wouldn’t have watched. At this point (like others itt) I can only think of his family. Nobody’s judging because at that moment of you know what he could have had a number of things go wrong that was outside of his control. Or he was acting reckless.

I have a big family that depends on me for more everything. Or atleast that’s how I approach my role. I don’t think I would have done the same even if I could afford it and I think many others here and all over are also having a hard time coming to grips with: why put yourself in such blatant risks? In the infomercial I got feeling this was his first plane.
