Did we recruit him? Who'd we pursue and get instead of Leonard?

It would've been interesting had he started his career at ND. He would've played for Kelly, and while I guess I'm a Kelly fan, who the heck knows how that would've gone. I think that Leonard and Freeman are a great "match".

It's fun to speculate and talk "what if"? This year, things have just come together in Leonard's favor. The loss to NIU......all the way to the 3 awesome playoff wins. What a journey it's been.

Was there ever a scenario where this could've been a 4-yr journey?

The staff chose Tyler Buchner that class, staff evaluation said TB. Passed on McCarthy who went to Michigan, he was said to be a life long ND fan. Now a first round NFL pick. Happens at every program.

A bit off-topic, but on that late short pass to Faison to get us close enough for the field goal, RL looked like a point guard faking the drive and lobbing a pass to the center closer to the basket.
