Freeman mentioned it in the post game interview, then again (in more depth) in the press conference. He even expanded the concept to this university weeds out those that are not resilient.
I think about that often when a player leaves for another school. I don't have the attitude of don't let the door hit you on the way out, but rather that the team MIGHT be better off. It allows those who are committed to get more playing and practice reps.
I don't fault players for wanting to get playing time. They need to be competitive to perform at this level (let alone the next). But it shows their level of commitment and resilience if they feel they have to leave to have a chance.
That goes for coaches too.
