Anyone go back and watch it? Was it a bad alignment, blown coverage or wrong defensive call?

Really odds on that call have to be 90/10 ND.

I’m about done with the game and discussion and ready to move to Duke. Just curious what the coverage was there and how he was so wide open.

Sad thing was ND has 2 backs BEHIND Egbuka and Bertrand coming fom the side and none could deflect it. DJ Brown[hands of stone] shoulda been able to haul in the interception. Most all backs and wrs catch that pass even a little high. He had hands on it just muffed it and Bertrand muffed that deflection that Stover got.

I finally got to watch it. There is a guy that broke down the game frame by frame on the better plays.

First, Hartman didn’t get much credit but when you watch the break down he made some incredible throws and pulled defenders off. That game is 24-0 without him.

That last play the cover is supposed to check him at the line to redirect him out. Instead he blows by him leaving the deep saftey to come up. He was over the top of the outside guy and had to roll back. The cover has to either get hands on him or keep him in front. He was trailing and the throw was a perfect back shoulder.

One of the more interesting frames was the play prior when we almost got the sack and he threw it down field and it bounced in front of the receiver. The ND cover was breaking on that ball. If it doesn’t get hit by the blitzer it’s probably a pick.

Anyway, they beat the cover guy. He talked about the 10 guys. Just completely inexcusable. They run to that hole. Someone needs fired for that one. Not once but twice.

Replay shows # 13 leaving his man, # 2, to help double the outside receiver, # 4, thereby leaving # 2 wide open for the catch.

# 13 turned his back and took his eyes off of # 2 and the QB resulting in an easy pitch and catch.

If # 13 stays with his man, # 2, I don’t know if the pass is complete, intercepted or incomplete, but it couldn’t be worse than the actual result

Not true, OSU # 2 never blew by the ND defender, # 13.
instead # 13 left # 2 to double up the outside receiver, # 4, leaving OSU # 2 wide open

Goolsby said it was Bertrands fault
Then Goolsby is dead wrong, # 13 left # 2 and # 2 caught the ball,
Bertrand had nothing to do with that coverage.

Bertrand is covering the inside receiver. # 8.
He even bumps # 8 ten yards off of the LOS

Goolsby is clueless on that play !
