Making my prediction now. Whenever it's Miami and at their place, I fear being screwed by an atrocious, and biased reffing crew. We will need to beat the refs. I know this sounds crazy, but this thread will get resurrected in 2 weeks. It's sad, but this crap still goes on.

We will be good enough and make any controversial call meaningless. We WILL be that good.

Of course, we haven't played at Miami since 1989 when the refs played a "major" role in their victory, a 27-10 ass kicking. No matter, always good to have the excuse in place well beforehand.

Then again -- letting a team with a 3rd and 44 get a 1st down does not help your cause either. ND played that game in fear -- they were tight from the opening whistle.

Not to mention that, in 1989, Miami was not a member of the ACC. They were an independent then.

The refs from our last trip to Miami are most likely retired or dead. It was almost 30 years ago.

It is not like they call the officials from the beach to work the game, nor do they sit in the locker room prior and determine how they are going to mess with ND. These officials want to work the bowl games, and down grades in the post game observation review are common. And, with replay more prevelant now, it is hard to get away with much.

Also -- ND highly benefited from an officials gaffe in 1988 -- the Cleveland Gary "fumble" (in today's light), would have been overturned to either a TD or a 1st and goal. Which then dramatically changes things -- that may have tied the score then (or, does Jimmie go for 2 then) -- can ND go down and win the game?

ND is basically an ACC team. There won't be any ref issues beyond the run of the mill suckitude.

Now, Big 10 games...that's a different story.

I haven't seen a lot come from Miami this season. I expect we'll have knocked the fight out of them by the 10:00 minute mark of the second quarter.

I think the calls for the most part have gone our way this year.
Yes. Getting some 50/50 calls go our way instead of against us, has been a pleasant surprise. It's played an important part in our season so far.

Play like we Ar playing, and we win and the bad calls Equal out over the season. Just win decisively !

And Miami’s td at the end of the 1st half wouldn’t have happened because Chudzinski incompletion would have been a fumble upon review. And Miami’s last TD, before the 2pt conversion, would have been incomplete as everyone saw in C v C.

I think refs are influenced by the crowd. Used to be that ND Miami games in Miami were sold out affairs with the stadium full of knuckle dragging Miami fans. I don't think that is the case now so I am less worried about getting hometowned.
