I have been out on the road the past few days, which meant that the 'Coaches on the Road' recruiting feature had to take a back seat for a while. But with a break in the action on Tuesday night (just kidding there are no breaks, I just made time) I had a chance to catch up on the latest recruiting action and put it into a brief recap.

Here's what we know from the past few days..

Irish Offer New DB Target

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford was in Texas on Tuesday. He spent a majority of the day with defensive line coach Keith Gilmore and was then spotted at Allen High, where he saw Rivals250 safety Jaylon Jones practice. Jones said he learned of the scholarship offer after practice, and claims that he has genuine interest in the Irish.

"I didn't expect an offer or anything, but I saw Coach Sanford at practice," Jones said. "It's a big school, Brian Kelly is a great coach and they have a good program … Distance doesn't really matter to me, as long as it's a good program, and I can play early, then I'll give it a look. I got a teammate headed out to Notre Dame and he has told me a lot about it."

Jones' teammate is 2015 wideout signee Jalen Guyton. He said that he would like to visit campus sometime this summer.

Irish Offer New DE Target(s)

Notre Dame defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder was in Georgia at the tail end of last week, and that trip resulted in a new target along the defensive line. The Irish offered Suwanne (Calif.) Collins Hill three-star defensive end Tomon Fox on Tuesday, and he said that was because the coaches were at his school earlier in the week. Fox holds offers from Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Tennessee.

VanGorder also offered Norcoss (Ga.) High defensive end Robert Beal on Monday. Beal, who visited Notre Dame last month, has family that lives in South Bend.

Denbrock In LA, Fresno
Notre Dame associate head coach Mike Denbrock has made his way to Los Angeles. He was at Augustus Hawkins on Friday to watch and offer a pair of underclassmen, and in Fresno on Saturday to check up on a 5-star prospect.

Here's who Denbrock saw in that two-day span:
2016 5-star LB Caleb Kelly
2016 Rivals250 WR Darian Owens - UCLA commit.
2017 Rivals100 WR Joseph Lewis
2017 Rivals100 ATH Greg Johnson
2017 WR Taariq Johnson
2018 WR Jalen Hall

Outside of Owens, the Irish are in play for almost every prospect on that list. Greg and Tarriq Johnson (not related) were both offered on Friday, and those two along with Hall and Lewis, were on campus last month for an unofficial visit. Kelly will visit South Bend for the Irish Invasion in June. We have had video interviews with all of those prospects the past few days and you can find them here.

Sanford Makes The Rounds In California, As Well
Before Sanford made his way to Texas he dropped in on some prospects in Northern California. Sanford was at Concord De La Salle High to see Rivals250 tight end Devin Asiasi and Rivals250 defensive tackle Boss Tagaola. Asiasi is the target of the two at De La Salle, and he has said in the past that he wants to visit Notre Dame at some point during the recruiting process.

Sanford was also at San Mateo Junipero Serra High at some point last week, and according to quarterback Hunter Bishop, he was the reason. Bishop is unranked and doesn't have a profile on any recruiting service, but here's some highlights.

Lyght Works Arizona
Just a day after Scottsdale (Ariz.) Sagurao Rivals100 cornerback Bryon Murphy told Blue & Gold Illustrated that he wasn't really considering Notre Dame, Irish defensive backs coach Todd Lyght was at his school. According to Rivals.com recruiting analyst Blair Angulo, Lyght was at Saguaro High on Monday to see Murphy and 2017 defensive tackle Kayden Lyles, who already holds a Notre Dame offer.

Denson Back In Florida
After making the rounds in Alabama where he saw 5-star linebacker Ben Davis and Rivals250 linebacker Jeremiah Moon, Irish running backs coach Autry Denson was back in Florida. Denson hit the Clermont area hard on Tuesday and was at Lakeland Lake Gibson High and Lake Mineola High. Lake Gibson is the him to three-star defensive tackle Keyshon Camp, while Lake Mineola is the home to safety Deon Edwards. Both players are not believed to be offer candidates.

Booker In NJ

Notre Dame tight ends coach Scott Booker was in Sparta (NJ) on Monday morning to check up on defensive tackle Dayln Wade-Perry, who holds offer from Alabama, Stanford, Ohio State and Penn State.

On Deck
-- Denbrock is expected to be at Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra on Wednesday to see a number of targets workout including: Arizona quarterback commit Khalil Tate, Rivals100 safety Brandon Burton, 4-star cornerback CJ Pollard and Rivals250 defensive end Oluwole Betiku.
