There are a lot more 3 and 4 loss teams competing for that part of the rankings. There are only a few one loss teams.

I'm just guessing ND would have dropped much further than OSU if we got our doors blown off at home by a team ranked behind us and we where number 2. I'm thinking we would have been pushed down to 7 or 8 but maybe your right.
