Anyhow congratulations to the men's team for a really good run in the NCAA tournament and on the ACC tournament title, beating Duke twice and a great season. Arguably the best in Notre Dame history.
Congratulations to the Lady Irish on another great season.
With the spring game just a couple weeks away here are some things I would to see when I watch it on TV.
Quarterback - Good footwork, leadership, command of the offense, consistency in passing. Both guys are capable of leading the Fighting Irish in 2015. The battle should push each qb to a higher level.
Runningbacks - the continued growth of Folston. Would like to Bryant begin to look like the kind of back his incredible athletic ability leads us to believe he can be. Look forward to see how Prosise is progressing, if he can play both slot/runningback it will create match-up problems and package issues for opposing defenses.
WR - I can't remember in my 52 years a group as deep as this unit appears to be. Looking for guys to step up and show consistency, good route running, blocking ability. If the running game can be what it was against LSU, the receivers will have huge opportunities for big plays.
TE - Like to see a couple step up and show they can be successors in the line of NFL level TEs, ND has become known for.
O-line - Talent is there for this to be a dominating unit. We need to see them take steps of coming together with the chemistry and cohesiveness that will make them a great line. Championship teams start with great lines.
D-line - This to me may be the unit with the most question marks. We need to see them show the ability to stop the run and get to the passer.
Linebacker - A lot of talent and speed, need to see them flying to the ball and ability to defend in the passing game.
DB - Need to see consistency in pass coverage and the ability to run support.
