Just heard the news. He's the second offensive lineman from that 1988 haul that included Rocket, Derek Brown, etc. to pass away way too young. Mirko Jurkovic did in January 2013.

Jurkovic played that season as a freshman for the 1988 national champs at defensive tackle before shifting to offensive guard the next year. Hall had an outstanding freshman camp and challenged Dean Brown (also deceased) at right tackle, and it looked like it could be a rotation there like it was this year with Tommy Kraemer and Robert Hainsey, but an injury in the third game ended Hall's season.

Hall, Jurkovic, Gene McGuire and Lindsay Knapp would form the nucleus of stellar Irish lines from 1990-92 that opened a lot of holes for guys like Jerome Bettis, Ricky Watters, Tony Brooks, Reggie Brooks, Rodney Culver (RIP, too) and Rocket.

Cherish each day, because you never know when your time is up.
