OL was absolute dominant, especially Liam/Banks. Kraemer with his best game in a long time. He looked much better on the hoof tonight. Was he batteling an injury before the extended break?
Book with his best game of the year and for awhile as well. He showed poise in the pocket, moved around well and made some very tight throws. He's still struggling with his down field balls. He drives me crazy by stepping out of bounds behind the LOS when he can throw it away. That's at least the 4th one this year in 3 games.
Kyren is Kyren, another impressive game. His balance and ability to make the first defender miss is off the charts, as is his ability to fall forward. He struggled on a couple throws tonight which would have both been first downs that ended drives.
McKinely showed out very well tonight in all phases, catch and blocking. Glad to see him finally doing well
Lenzy didn't look like Lenzy tonight. The end around with him is getting very stale
Mayer was a beast in the first half.
Tyree showed great brust (again) and ran for some tough yards
Hinish played his worst game in a long time
Hayes continues to miss tackles and not impact the game, although tonight he was more active. Foskey needs to play more
Basically zero product from the buck again. Maris and SImon just aren't Kiser.
Hamilton with probably his worst game at ND, He looked off tonight
Crawford gave up the td, but made a ton of plays.
Bracy was tested in the run game and was hit and miss
JOK was a beast as usual
SP Teams was a disaster on all fronts.
The defensive run game up the middle has been soft all year and it showed up tonight
I didn't like Clark Lea's play calling on the series Crawford picked the ball at the 1. The blitz was getting beat over and over. Speaking of the blitz, the defense shows whats its doing way too early and way too much, and then backs out of it.
Rees called a really good game. The scripted plays were great as was the rest of the game. On the flip side, Lea called one of his worst games.
I was very dissapointed this was a competitive game and the backups didn't get to play, especially at QB where its needed. The team was obvoiusly rusty after 2 weeks off and with one of them not even being able to practice of lift.
I hope Doerer isn't getting the jitters again. What happened to our stud punter? That was a shit show.
I didn't like the clock management at the end of the half, although it worked out. Don't call our last TO with 18 seconds left on a first down. Go up and spike it, and then you can run the ball or take a sack in worst case and still kick the field goal.
Lots of work to do, but a good win and looks like no injuries sans Moala. Let's hope he's ok.
Go Irish!
