What do you know about the decision-making apparatus in matters related to the ND football coach, inclusive of contract extensions? I ask because I remember that when Ty was let go, and Urban was pursued, the involvement went beyond Kevin White, Fr. Jenkins (who was on his way in) and Fr. Molloy (who has heading out). I have a vague memory of it coming down to a 4-3 vote, with Fr. Molloy and White being among the three who opposed it. Is this anything close to accurate? I further recall some noise, over time, about Kevin White's decision to move on partly motivated by his lack of control over the football program. I am stating none of this as fact, just impressionistic recall.
If I had to guess, I would think that this is the manner in which such decisions are made. It's hard for me to believe that Jack Swarbrick, or anyone, would have complete autonomy in an enterprise that Forbes values at over one hundred million dollars.
