Lou,
I'm 36 yrs old, so I remember the '88-'93 yrs vividly; obviously an era that set a gold standard. One standard that I've yet to see replicated was the sheer size of the defense during those years. Notably Karl McGill, Devon McDonald, Demetrius DuBose, Stams, Zorich. Even my freshman yr guys like Kinnon Tatum, Cobbins, Bert Berry, etc. I was younger obviously but they seemed physically so much more imposing than the last 20 yrs or so. Obvious answer would be fall off in recruiting, but are there other factors that have contributed? Academic load stifling development? I'm I alone in noticing this? Maybe my perception was skewed watching football as a ten yr old
Thanks
