Ok. The Irish are up against it. They have to be smart without becoming too vanilla, and they need to keep attacking. Prosise has shown the desire to run the ball up the gut or outside as needed, fighting for every yard.
However, the Irish can't afford to lose him or have him worn down. I would like to see his up the gut carries reduced, with more attention to getting him outside on toss or fly sweeps. Of course to make this strategy some kind of counter action is needed from time to time, maybe inside screens would do the trick or flanker reverses and so on. I just think the Irish have to work more to the perimeter.

A thought about G. Tech. A key will be limiting them to short gains on first and second down. Keeping them in 3rd and long increases NDs chances. Too bad we don't have a weaker team to give Kizer a chance to settle in, but it is what it is.

I think it would be overthinking it to try and distribute carries based on outside vs inside runs. If its safer to run outside, its not by much. Guys bounce outside from inside and visa versa often anyway.

Good point on first and second down defense. That's how ND jumped out to a huge lead and limted the Navy offense in 2012. These guys are almost impossible to stop on third and fourth and short. They also almost never have negative yardage plays when the fullback carries unless the defense gambles.

MMboy- Ga Tech defense blows -- this will be an excellent game for Kizer to get acclimated .Our run defense will obviously be key for a W on Saturday
