Back in full swing. It never really left the elites but it's come full circle. Unless you've a freakish talent.....cam newton, Vince young, power football is king.

Bama...it's no mystery. Everyone got into the trendy little zone read thing but Bama stayed the course. Tight end, fullback, conventional drop back QB.

Pro style power football offense and they can't be touched. Two years ago they dabbled in the Mickey Mouse offense and lost to OSU. The very next year(last year) they came right back with conventional QB play. What happened, another NC.

Harbaugh goes to Michigan...power football. They ran 56 times yesterday. Yes FIFTY SIX. Score...72-0

OSU ...they run a hybrid style but it's still power football.

Stanford until this year competitive with the elites, fullback, pro style.

Running a conventional power offense is much easier to succeed when you change over players from graduation. It's a much more collective effort.

Sure you can have a nice year here or there when you have a freak of nature at QB...but those come around so infrequently.

The point is that it would be a welcoming refresher going back to a conventional offense. Running out of a power I with 1at and goal from the 8. BK goes empty set.

I hope this Mickey Mouse horse shit has run its course.

I'm sick of the spread, zone read, etc. Unless we get a cam newton type...it's crippling a guy like Kizer. Allow him to use regular play action. Drop back, fire the ball.

The elites yearly are using power football...exception being those freak athletes that show up once in a while.
.lastly. power football works in all weather types.

Imagine that. ❕

You are exactly right in all respects. The spread is utter garbage.

Stanford's Power Football has looked great the last 2 weeks huh?

Alabama is 1 back Gun Spread with Kiffin. You are aware Kiffin is there right? You have seen them play right? You have noticed they never line up with 2 backs in the backfield right?

Michigan played 1 decent defense and scored 14 points. They played Rutgers take a breath.

Ohio State and Urban Meyer run the Spread. WTF are you talking about Hybrid? Hybrid what? They use shotgun 1 back 1 TE and 3 WR that's called a Spread

Try watching football with your head pulled out of your rear end you might accidentally learn something.

You that stupid? For real? Power football can be run from many formations. It's easiest running it from a conventional attack but you can still spread them out and run power football..see Ohio State. Alabama this YEAR is not running their normal. Two years ago they tried this same experiment. They lost. Last year they went back to a very conventional offense.
We don't know their outcome this year.

I say hybrid about OSU dumbass because they utilize every back like a power running back. It's what tebow ran, etc. OSU may spread on offense but nearly all of their runs are straight forward. They don't run laterally very often. It's in the box including the QB.

Let's throw another there.

FSU. When they won, ...it got no more conventional offense than that. Jameis Winston ran as a may day. He was a pocket passer, utilizing play action etc. They ran north and south with running backs.

In the last 12 years there have been two....just two..that have won it all that you could say did not run power football.

Or better yet the QB's were so tremendous athletically they were men among boys.
Vince young, can newton.

The other ten winners were about tightening the chin strap north and south running along with conventional passing.

So yeah...I'll take 10 vs. 2

Regardless any of the above...Brian Kelly and his ridiculous no sense of feel for the in game moments can't even be discussed among the elites.

Now go ahead and blame David Shaw for Kelly repeatedly passing today in a Hurricane. Or was it the kids from the different aisle that made him ?

BK MUST go. ❕

Sure, let's not Spread the field and use guys like D Watson and L Jackson. Let's line up with 2 backs and 3 TE's and prepare for playing a game in a Hurricane.

Because that happens all the time. Mack Brown a National Championship coach said you throw out statistics and game film in that weather. But you geniuses want to use the game to invalidate the Spread Offense?

I'll defer to Mack Brown on account of the fact he's a great coach and you clowns never coached a down of football in your lives.

I'd say you are a football half wit but I do not even see the half. From Alabama press guide below. You know nothing.

"The Alabama offense has undergone a fairly dramatic cosmetic change under offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin. Largely gone are the one back, under center, two tight end formations. In its place, the Tide operate primarily from shotgun, utilizing 11 personnel (3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB)"

Also take notice Alabama NEVER ran a FB. Saban is a Belichick disciple and NE does not use a FB. A 2nd back = Extra Hat in the Box. A 2nd TE gives you a 4 vertical threat and keeps both safeties deep.

You see little camper that is called understanding football rather than being some dope spewing drivel on a message board. Wise up you sound like a fool.

Wow....you are lost. Try and keep up.

WTF is wrong with you. I'm talking big picture. Today's example was a microcosm of BK football.

N C state even showed his dumb ass we're not throwing anymore today. Drove right down the field twice. They got no points but what does Kelly do? Let's keep passing boys.

Funny thing was his light bulb finally cane on with 5 mins to go...but Theb the worst happened. He completed a pass on 1st down ..for a first down. In the red zone. What next?

1st down, another incomplete.
2ND down, incomplete
3rd and ten Kizer took it upon himself to try and get the first. Not called by Kelly BTW.
4th down ..turnover on downs. Ball game.

The other Einstein move...
Yoon just hit a 40 yard field goal. So it's 4th and 12 and could be a 41 yard attempt ...Kelly goes for it on 4th and 12 instead of trying a kick that was already successful.

Points are at a premium mind you...

Yeah he's amazing alright.

But it's Shaw's fault. Or that pesky different aisle.

So let's see, uou use a guide to help you...LOL...

That explains everything.

I know what I see. You apparently need help referencing strategy guides or whatever else you consider football 101.

You might be as insane as Kelly.

And while you are learning football daily...

You've yet to acknowledge that ten of the last twelve NC winners were power football teams.

Must be Shaw's fault somehow.

One question for Floridairish: Why are you such a jerk? Did your father beat you when you were a child? Bullied a lot in grade school? It's okay to argue points of view, but your incessant need to personally attack the point of view of anyone who questions your genius is beyond tiresome.

Just because someone says they favor power football doesn't mean they want us to channel Woody Hayes 1968.

What did you think of BK's coaching performance yesterday?

What did you think of BK's coaching performance yesterday?

ND inside the NC 25 5 times and come away with 3 pts. That says it all. ND cannot, or will not run the football when they need to. And Zaire?? Maybe he should have been used in some capacity at QB. The conditions fit his talents more?? Both teams had to play in the same conditions. NC St. did things to adjust, ND did not.
