hudson card - no brainer
tyler vand dyke - no brainer
cade mcnamara - no brainer
graham mertz - he's big and can throw
kurtis rourke - nd is big step up
max duggan - come with riley
drake maye - come with longo
brennan armstrong ?
riley leonard - duke, can compete
aj swann - vandy, can compete

One HC in the schools history has started a transfer at QB.

How many seasons did that coach stay at ND after doing so?

Perfect world Riley comes and Duggan with him. I've thought about Armstrong. That dude is a competitor but not sure he has time left. Van Dyke? More importantly I'm aghast at the fact all these programs have not one but two QBs who would have ND sitting at worst 5-2 right now probably 6-1. Yet ND has little to no quality at QB.

Not one of those kids is dumb enough to play for Freeman or Rees and you know it.

Yet we have the number 3 recruiting class in the country. Top in 24. And CJ Carr.

But these guys wouldnt want to play here....sureee
Love, Bowen, Edwards will all decommit soon. I bet several others too. Carr will end up at Michigan when all is said and done. Freeman will likely lose the remaining games.

Stfu an stop ruining my threads u terds back to the point it sound a like from what I read that brennan amrstrong has actual interest in Notre ame he would be a nice pickup and way better then wat we got now

Tommy will have another year with the QB’s and they will greatly benefit from his knowledge of the position!

Just don't see how Armstrong could transfer. He played 4 years and also redshirted. Covid year?

Buchner is the guy. No need to get a QB from the portal.

agree! you don’t give up on a future AA and NFL #1 pick! stop your nonsense

Talent, potential, jokes aside. Buchner is injury prone
yeh even if he were joe montana which he aint we cant expect him to last a season far as I see its pyne or a transfer. buch still young and unproven we end up same position next season wouthout a portal

Pyne will transfer. So that leaves Buchner Powlus and Angeli.

I wonder if certain positions of need in the transfer portal will be able to demand large NIL deals?

the guy from Animal House? how old is he? Blutarski in the portal?
He plays for LSU. He's a former elite recruit. And he's the progeny of journeyman major-college OC Doug Nussmeier, who apparently is now coaching in the NFL.

So, wrong Nussmeier....

Unless Drew Pyne graduates early, there is 00.00%%%% he will transfer before 2024. My bet is he will run out of the Notre Dame stadium tunnel, and then hug both highly educated, uber rich parents for senior day in 2023.

00.00%%%%% chance you didn’t overdo the % signs.

Convince Pyne to come back and then go get a legit former 5 star transfer. If not, we are right back in the same pickle next season. Also, I like that list above. The first 3 guys mentioned, if we could swing it, would be a massive upgrade in arm talent. Bring in the young brother of Lincoln Riley (which would also go a long ways in convincing top QB talent to come to SB), insert the freshman receivers and running backs, and we could quickly become a top 10 offense. Unless of course the class starts decomitting because Rees is so damn bad.

I'd like to see Freeman bring in one of these top transfers out there. But as far as our 3 returning QBs, I think Angeli probably has the most upside as a passer. Would like to see him get a chance to play some this year.

I hope like hell we are successful in getting a quality QB via the portal for 23. I really liked the versatility that Buchner’s elite running brought to our offense, but was both surprised and disappointed with his passing in the limited action we saw. When you consider Buchner’s ACL injury in high school caused him to miss his jr year; Covid causing the cancellation of his sr yr; his limited play his freshman yr at ND; and his sophomore season limited to less than six quarters due to his shoulder injury; I think it would be crazy to build your offense assuming his availability, durability, and effectiveness next season.

I also think it would be crazy to enter The season with Pyne as our starting QB. You have to appreciate his love for ND and his competitive spirit, but I personally think we have seen all that Pyne can bring to the position…average play with limited mobility and limited arm strength and occasionally very good Pin point passing.

To me, Angeli is the wild card in this discussion. I liked his film from high school, but none of the rating agencies saw him as an elite prospect. He looked good in the Blue Gold game, but second or third string QBs always look good in this game. As I recall, he has better mobility than Pyne, a much stronger arm, and much better size. I hope we see him given some meaningful opportunities this season to gauge whether he has starting potential for 23.

Given Buchner’s history, Pyne’s performance and limitations, and Angeli’s unknown or unproven potential, I think we go hard after a QB via the portal for 23 As Insurance, if nothing else.

the Portal is not a rummage sale. LSU won a NC with a portal QB.

Hudson Card. Guy had a great game vs. Bama this year. He'll be a grad and eligible to play. Can run, can make the throws. The others... not so much.

has nd ever had such a wide open qb room, top recruiting class, and elite players on both sides of the ball and have literally nobody that wants to come play the position in an entire recruiting class? epically ****ing weird

That's BK's fault.
