The thing that tickled my ears yesterday was the defensive line. Eric Hansen, SBT ND Insider, has been very negative about the DL all year, was so excited by the growth and potential of that group. From their explosive first step through the whistle they never slowed up; not one of them. He said for the first time in the 10 years he's covered ND football, "The whole group looked like they belong." Hard as they tried, none of them got past StoneWall Mac. He said the linebackers moved quick, athletic, and strong. We will see Saturday when they dawn the pads. Darnell Ewell was caught several times standing, just looking around at the others. In a competitive environment; you snooze, you lose.
