Several forecasters are now saying that Daelin Hayes will end up Irish. I don't know how much stock to put in their comments, but they are out there.

Also, I see more forecasters saying Donte Vaughn will be Irish. At 6'3", 195 and not real fast, I wonder if he grows into a linebacker?

What other LBs are highly interested in ND?

Hayes talk is growing. He may end up Jones last year but we will see. Also talk he could develop/grow into a DE. Think Kelly is a pipe dream but I am sure people will drop his name. ND takes 2 backers this year beyond Jones at the most.

ND takes 3 backers if it is Jones, Davis and Hayes (or the other Jones and maybe Hansford). But, I do think Hayes plays DE in college.

Unless they can swing a superstar late in the process.

lets let this one develop so as to not jinx or alter it's course!
less chat of it the better.

Thy are referring to an elite player committed elsewhere. This is an ongoing saga; not new but as the recruiting season rounds the far turn it heats up.

Ask to JJ2, his position will probably be determined after arriving and working out for the staff; if he has the lateral movement LB is possible, else DE.

Hays set an OV date so there is even more smoke there

The official visit is for the USC game so he might be going partially to see the Trojans play. He was wildly pro-USC until about a month ago. He was at The Opening with the SC logo shaved into his head, and was recruiting kids left and right. He gave a couple of rabidly pro-usc interviews at that time..but things change.

I do think the Sark/alcohol incident might play into his decision. Especially if the ice under him gets thinner.

I think distance might be a factor, although he loves Calfornia and was living there briefly last year (with Ricky Towns who recently transferred to Arkansas).

I also think that if USC falls on their face this year, while ND excels, that might play into it well.

Right now, I think it is still at least 60/40 USC.

I think Towns leaving is the biggest catalyst. Don't think it is even 60/40. His OV was always going to be against USC but he had delayed setting the OV for a while. Like I said just more smoke then before.

I see Spencer Perry as a LB not a S - think hes our only LB commit right now and projects well to Onwualus spot and think he is almost the ideal guy to play there in our version of the 4-2-5 with him as that de facto 3rd linebacker/safety. Hayes looks versatile like he could be a pass rushing OLB and edge guy. Hope we can get Caleb Kelly, Ben Davis, J McCulloch or Hansford (hopefully at least 1 of these studs). I see Jamir Jones as a DE for sure in our 4-3.

Perry
Hayes
1 of Kelly/Davis/McCulloch/Hansford

Would be a unreal LB class, especially following Coney, Barajas, Bilal.

Not interested. How many high schools has he been to? Is his mom still working in LA? I know he's back in MI. Heard she got a nice job there after committing.

I am certainly glad you are not ND's head coach then. You take Hayes all day long.
He has been to two HS (three if he didn't return to the same school he left in MI. He never played for a school in California as he returned home after a few months.
The whole family his home. He is also a well spoken, intelligent kid who gets good grades and is respectful. Shame on him for thinking at 16 or 17 he knew what he wanted to do, and moved back home.

It's an unofficial, and he still plans on making the USC game for his official.

Not true. He started at Orchard Lake St. Mary's. I'm not gonna say more than I should. You have your feelings and I have first hand info. Go Irish

I read the other day that his mom is now back in Michigan and so he now has no family in the LA area or at least not his mom
