This is a tremendous opportunity and I like ND’s bracket plus the first expanded playoff game in FBS history will be @ NOTRE DAME. Love it.

I respect the heck out of Indiana and think they’re better than they are given credit for. It’s hard to thoroughly beat so many teams the way they have. I don’t think they’re that far behind Ohio State and Penn State. They could very reasonably win this game and the ND fans that laughed them off better hope ND wins.

That said, they are less athletically gifted than a team like Ohio State. I’d rather face them than Alabama as well. ND has a really good chance to finally win that big postseason game. Interestingly enough, Indiana has not won a bowl game since the 1991 season. So both schools are looking to do something they haven’t done in a while.

If ND wins then they get Georgia. I do subscribe to easiest path (and this still might be), but ND has a good chance to finally get the monkey off the back against Indiana, and then there’s no shame losing to #2 and SEC champ Georgia, but ND can do themselves and the rest of college football a solid by knocking them off. It gives ND fans (and Jack Kiser) a chance to avenge the 2017 and 2019 tough losses.

Then the semifinals is PSU, Boise, or SMU. Lots of ND fans don’t respect PSU so here’s your chance. If it’s not PSU, then there ya go. Boise and SMU don’t have as much talent although I respect them. I like both of their QB’s.

Compare that to OSU who has Tennessee, Oregon, and perhaps Texas, then the final.

I think ND has a good chance. Georgia will be tough but Beck may not be healthy. If ND loses, oh well, you still went 12-2.

Shout out to SMU for going 11-2 and almost winning the conference in their first year. I think they’re here to stay. I also think the committee was correct to rank them ahead of Clemson. Boise being ahead of ASU is my only complaint though I think PSU should be in front of Texas. I think the committee got it right overall. Nothing egregious.

I think anyone in the playoff is capable of beating us. Indiana is good, but I think we beat them 3 out of 4 times. I'd be pretty happy with beating Indiana. Anything after that is gravy. Making the playoff in itself is a good season and there are a lot of heavy hitters (Alabama, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, USC) to name a few who wish they were in.

Absolutely. Just happy to be in, especially after losing in week 2 to NIU. I think ND can really recruit well off of what they have done aside from being 11-1.

This is a huge test for Freeman. It's his first major postseason. Not that it's now or never, but how he performs I think will have a major impact on recruits going forward. He needs to offer some sense of potential at the very least, that if you come play for me, I'll take you to the promised land.

With an extended season, vis-à-vis the playoffs, it’s critical to stay injury free

Get past Indiana and then worry about Georgia. If ND can get past Indiana then I hope for Beck to play because the guy is a turnover machine. He will give you the ball one or two times. I'm on record of saying the ACC is every bit as good as the SEC this season and that was a week before Georgia vs Gtech. Once everyone has caught on to their bush league defensive line shift, your are able to do more things running the ball against them and not have to pass because you are behind the sticks.

Notre Dame has two strengths going for them that help this time of year-strong defense and running game.

Biggest thing, ND needs to show up on both sides of the ball, period. Our defense didn't look great against a talented, albeit under achieving, SC team. The offense seems to be hitting their stride right now and I hope that continues.

I think we handle Indiana, but it will not be a gimme and we'll need to play four quarters. Stay healthy, get by Indiana and then focus on UGA.

UGA... eh... I don't see us beating them. My pessimistic mind says until we start beating the top teams in the country every now and then, we lose this one.

If ND can run the ball down their throats and control clock like they have been doing, they'll beat IU. You don't want to get into a shootout with them though.

I'm intrigued by the IU matchup. They are pretty good. And there's no cold weather advantage. Bloomington's a little warmer.
