I have a playoff idea and want some feedback.
Each conference winner including the. . One independent with best ranking. One service academy with the best ranking. The remaining spot will go to the highest ranking team from the non power 5 conference. So instead of backing that into the American conference or something...that last spot goes to really any of the typical lower tierd conference. Hell even if that team was a freak of nature DI-AA team...whatever.
If this were in place you would see more schools go independent status. (Good thing). If this were in place you would see the academies get better material if one of them were guaranteed a playoff spot. (A REALLY REALLY GOOD THING!) More quality kids wanting to enlist and serve our country is a win for society and the future of said individual!
The last spot is ONLY open to a team that is NOT power 5, an Indy or academy.
It wouldn't take very long until you would see players flocking to some of these other schools knowing they have a chance to play for a title.
Moreover this gets kids back to at the very least considering an academy...something sadly missed since it became popular to ignore the service altogether. People used to take pride in serving the country. It was a prideful thing long ago.
Maybe this would get some of that back. Which would be fantastic.
