He recently picked up an offer from Nebraska & has been contacted by several larger programs. He is having a really good year & people are taking notice. ND just got onto him early because he is 15 minutes away & came to camp & impressed the coaches before anyone else saw him.

Hawaii sounds nice until you think your family may never see you play in person, it's awful jet lag if you member get to come home.

Considering that this staff rarely misses when evaluating in state talent, I am very excited.

Seriously, the players we have gotten from Indiana have been impact players. We've had way better players from Indiana than from California lol

Special teams guy. Nothing wrong with that
Again, with this staff's track record with kids from in state, it is definitely pre-mature to make that statement.

I am at the point where I definitely expect this kid to make an impact while at ND. And not just in special teams.

Remember that Tranquill was a largely misplaced athlete prior to this year and was all over the place in rankings from the various services. If Maola has the skill set, coachability, focus, and can slide into a spot that highlights that skill set, then he can range anywhere from a dynamic special teams stud and situational player, to a staple in a position of need. Lots of factors are involved and I personally am hesitantly more confident that those will be in the student-athlete's favor moving forward with this defensive staff. The signs thus far are really good.
