Rather odd that my posting privileges have been denied in the Kizer kneeling thread when I haven't been more incendiary than others expressing a contrary point of view. I guess I should adhere to mod dictates and not say anymore, although I find the discipline strange and uneven

Have posted on many threads that were eventually locked, Have posted on many threads that eventually got sent to the corn, but never have heard of a poster being locked out of a thread. Wow! Did they notify you?

No, I've concluded that dialog with the mod who did this is pointless. This technique of selectively locking out a given poster, to the best of my knowledge, is the specialty of one mod. Did you review the thread and see anything about my posts that was particularly offensive and warranted such treatment? I didn't, but then I have a bias.

Didn't go back over all six pages but did look at your past posts and as expected nothing jumped out as offensive or inciteful, CR. I followed the thread as new posts appeared, I thought the thread overall was tame compared to others about Kelly or political in nature.

I have seen posts deleted in a middle of a thread but you, my friend, are the first I know of to be locked out of a thread.

Take heart, there are only six days till Irish football! Next Sunday, hopefully, we'll be posting happy thoughts about Irish football. :)

The game plan is win big, let the backs ups play, no injuries. This is a statement game as far as being able to dominate an opponent and not let them hang around. Stanford had that game last night. We need to do the same.

That's what I thought about the thread. Although opinions differed, the discussion was conducted in respectful tones. Indeed, the Temple game can't come soon enough.

BTW, I was at a block party yesterday, and met a Hoosier high school hoops star who played back in the '60s. His name is Billl Schwartz and he still holds 18 records for his HS. Can't remember where he played but he went to Michigan State. He gave me a menacing eye when I talked up Illinois basketball, but things were cordial and became more so when I retrieved a beer for him.

Menacing? I just roll my eyes when reading your HS hoops posts. ;)

If this Schwartz is a Hall of Famer, I can't find him on the Hall's website. I did find a Schwartz that played for MSU in the early 1960's but couldn't find any HS data when I googled. Interesting!

Beer is a good peacemaker!

I am looking forward seeing Elko's defense. I hope this season not to have to turn to Tracker when the defense is on the field!

I know you roll your eyes, as you very confident about your misguided beliefs. :)

He didn't say he was a HOFer, only that he had 18 records that still stand at his high school . He showed me some shots of when he was a high schooler and definitely looked the part, sort of Luke Recker-esque image. I believe he said that his team made it out of the sectionals twice, but that his best team lost to juggernaut South Bend Central.

I found a reference to him. He played at Columbia City.

Bill Schwarz in the stands at Col. City

COLUMBIA CITY — A legend in Columbia City’s boys basketball was present at the Eagles’ game against Northrop Saturday.Bill Schwarz, a 1960 graduate and CCHS basketball’s all-time leading scorer, traveled to the Donald S. Weeks gymnasium from his home in Chicago for Columbia City’s senior night. The Eagles’ senior night had special meaning, as two Columbia City players are the closest to Schwarz’s record that any hoopster has been since 1977.“I really don’t care that much about the amount of points scored,” Schwarz said. “What I’m really liking is the fact that these kids are well versed in the meaning of the game. Every one of them is pleasant. There’s no egos involved.“They’re good in the classroom, they’re good peers and they’re good people. That’s what it’s all about.”For a more in-depth look at this story, see the Feb. 19 issue of The Post and Mail. Don't have a subscription? Call (260) 244-5153 or subscribe to our e-edition. No, but if he holds multiple records in BB at his HS, he could still find his way into the Hall. CCHS only has one player inducted and he graduated in 1963 and his induction year is 2015.

Misguided beliefs? We will revisit that delusional thought next March.

I imagine the ship has sailed on his chances for HOF induction, but to be called a "legend" upon returning to your high school and having compiled a nice career at Michigan State speaks well for his accomplishments. He was a really nice guy. I only found out about his basketball prowess towards the end of the night, as we were discussing so many things unrelated to sports.

Yes, indeed, come March hoops discussion will be on the forefront, and I expect your headstrong attitude to remain in the face of all logic.
