I’d prefer eliminating these invitations altogether. The Administrations have been using these champions as a political prop, and now these champions are making political statements of their own when they choose to accept or decline.

Im not sure anymore. I wonder if you put on a ballot for America to split into two nations what the winning side would be. They just booted homeless Vets out of a NYC hotel to house illegal aliens. These guys are former USA vets and just got the heave ho. I think the country is severely divided with no turning back.
