So pumped!!! I really didn't believe our management would actually end up trying to pull the rebuild together with some major acquisitions. Very happy to be proven wrong. Probably the biggest thing to happen for the South Side since the Blackout game.
I am not kidding when I say that Grandal was my #1 target this offseason (yes, Cole and Rendon would be amazing but didn't see as realistic and just think Grandal fills huge need as well). I just didn't believe it could happen with a) Milwaukee seemingly intent on keeping him and b) Grandal being with Boras. Even if close, I thought it would be March before it happened. The way it has happened, now, the Sox can show that premium FAs are taking this rebuild seriously. And what pitcher wouldn't want to work with Grandal and McCann as the two guys behind the plate? Great for our young pitchers.
Anyway, for any other SOX fans on here, enjoy this one and I hope the momentum continues!
And the rest of the MLB can also be happy because hopefully this helps moves the Hot Stove closer to now than in March as it has been the past couple of years.
