OT: Father Jenkins Speaks Up

I don't think Jenkins, whose university is being sued once again over a rape coverup, has any moral authority whatsoever.

Good for Father Jenkins.

Why would you hold that against Father Jenkins? He probably had nothing to do with the alleged wrongdoing by someone in the Title IX Office. At any rate, it's a confusing case. Still not sure, after reading the article twice, exactly what she's suing them for.

Some people go out of their way to feel offended by successful people who are in charge. There is such an "oppressed' attitude in this country these days that they feel oppressed by any form of successful institution or person.

A friend of the alleged victim told an assistant rector who passed it on to the Title IX folks. This is 4th hand verbal gossip. The alleged victim did not want to be involved or testify. Now is filing a lawsuit. Either an incredibly complicated plan for monetary gain or just lots of folks who should be minding their own business. The Title IX group did the right thing by dismissing the unfounded allegation.

Yeah, cause like no Notre Dame players have ever been accused of rape before.

When asked did Jenkins try to change the subject to Diane Feinstein?

Are you thinking Prince Schembo?
No, I'm thinking Ross Browner, Luther Bradley, Al Hunter, Willie Frye, and two others I can't remember, not to mention several less publicized cases that took place during the intervening years, including the one mentioned in the suit. The player is not named, but there was a player who was booted off the team and quietly transferred that spring.

If you want to know anything about that first group, ask any alum from that era, it was a pretty well known story. Those guys were suspended for an entire season, not exactly a cover up. We also threw out four guys a few years ago who were accused, and they ended up being exonerated in court.
