Onward Notre Dame

Watching "onward Notre Dame" on NBCSN now, and I love it, but at the same time I can't help but think it is high time to bring the winning back to back up the theme of the show. Pains me to say ... but you can only maintain, or really reestablish, the mystic by winning again. All the looking back of late just highlights, draws attention to, the mediocrity we've seen over the past decades

Interesting perspective saying we've been mediocre for the past "decades." I guess it depends on one's definition. If we've been mediocre because of no NC or major bowl game wins, I guess you are right. I tend to look at it more from the perspective of whether the team is competitive, has a winning record, etc. No question we've had some tough years as fans, but we've had some pretty solid years as well:

2002 10-3
2005 9-3
2006 10-3
2012 12-1 and a NC game
2013 9-4
2015 10-3

I believe Notre Dame Football, as per tradition, should always be measured by NC's and major bowl wins. Period ... this attitude of "hey we've had some good years mixed in" is actually what hurts this program. ND was and always should be about "EXCELLENCE"
