Some excellent insight into OSUs investment into recruiting. I'm tired of reading articles about these recruiting powerhouses who are on the cutting edge of creativity/ambition/investment into recruiting. What is Brian Kelly/Notre Dame doing to bridge this gap?

Ohio State fans cling to every top-five list and recruiting update and flip and Pantoni's patented "BOOM!" tweets every time the Buckeyes pick up a new verbal commitment. Recruiting is fun because this is how national titles are won.

Just don't forget the money that goes into this.

"This is Ohio State," Meyer said. "We'd better be the best."

In before someone brings up the academics as the reason why ND can't replicate this.

Let me know when you hit double digit national titles. Then we can talk.

Owned the 1940s and last one that you won was more than 25 years ago. Congrats, keep living off of the past.

Oh yah, and the last 4 head to head matchups

They have won two since 1968, and one of them was handed to them by a referee. Feel free to be a Buckeye fan.

And does OSU outspend ND in recruiting? I don't think so.

Assuming you're just choosing to continue being an ass about all things Irish and BK because you're cherry-picking the truth. The Irish aren't being outspent and they aren't lagging in innovation or creativity with their recruiting efforts.

Actually no, we did great in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 60s, 70s & 80s. Thanks for asking.

And I love the argument past NC don't count. So Woody Hayes doesn't exist. Archie Griffin doesn't exist. And since high school kids being recruited dont know anything about the 2002 OSU team it doesn't exist either.

So I'm just curious what is the standard for what counts? Either you count all, or the current. Neither OSU or ND are the champ. But ND has MORE THAN DOUBLE national titles than OSU.

So like I said, when you hit double digits, we can talk. But we will both be dead by then, so it wont matter because OSU isn't catching ND in our lifetimes.

Things are circular, & ND will hit 15 before OSU hits 11. Especially because it is only a matter of time until Urban Meyer has another affair...errrr....has a mental breakdown....errrr has medical issues. Lol.

Just know you will not live long enough to ever be able to say OSU has more titles than ND.
Sniffle Sniffle

Can someone please translate this for me?

Let me guess, your one of the ND fans who didn't actually go there, nor could get admitted, but brags about how hard it is to get in? This type of person is the majority of the ND fan base.

Can we see your free tattoo?

Hmm not sure any ND fans should talk about off the field issues as of late, I mean, wasnt it less than two years ago you guys had 5 guys arrested on the same night? But yah breaking a ridiculous NCAA rule isnt as bad as breaking the law.

When did I saw it doesnt count? Its important to have to have a balance of both "what have you done for me lately", along with past greatness. I have no doubt that you guys have quite the past (and am not discounting that one bit), but have been pretty irrelevant at least consistently in my lifetime. The recent AP poll that came out for "all time greatest teams" did a good job balancing both the past and recent present.

I'm one of the ND fans you mention that have never gone there and probably wouldn't have had the grades to enter. I've been attending games for over 50 years and haven't missed a single home game in 18 years. Probably been on campus more times, off season, than I can remember, just to have lunch or visit the Grotto. Over the years, I've talked to enough current and former ND students to have an idea on just what it takes to be a Notre Dame student and eventually graduate. I always come away quite impressed. So, does that make me less of an Irish fan than the actual alumni?

Your hero coach Woody Hayes assaults a student athlete during a game with a sucker punch ! Most pathetic thing to ever happen on a college football field .

yep! I actually saw that live, intercepting the pass! how dare he!

Woody might have quoted Patton from the movie, "I should have kissed the son of a bitch."

Can you imagine the lawsuits stemming from the 'junction boys', if that were to occur today?
Failure is always someone elses fault.

....and I have a gaggle of Buckeye loving cousins that think that OSU is the best thing since sliced bread. Not one of them went there and I bet not one of them have set foot on the OSU campus. Their claim to loving OSU is living in Ohio which is okay by me since being Hoosier made I'm more than kinda fond of ND.

...and yes, the gaggle has a cousin from Southern Indiana that has stepped foot on the OSU (and ND)
campus. :D

Yawn. ND will never win a national title in football ever again. That's the biggest problem ND has- living in the past constantly.

When you learn about mental health there is an issue that seems childish at the time but now I see it everyday... Complaining.

People who are constantly negative & complain over & over about the same thing actually have mental health issues. It starts off as basic childish complaining but just a half hour a day of it releases enough cortisol to have 10 times the effect on the brain.
It actually starts damaging the brain (along with the rest of the body since it's a hormone) & the complainer actually forms a habit of complaining & it takes over their lives.

Stanford University actually saw brain damage from people who complain for 30 minutes a day. The research shows people "vent" about their own life through complaining to others about a certain topic. The listeners also show negative damage if they are surrounded by constant complainers.

You don't like Brian Kelly. You are a constant complainer. You have issues. Here are the seven steps to deal with it according to specialist in the field:

1) The complaint should have a purpose
2) Start with a positive statement
3) Deliver a lean complaint
4) End with another positive statement
5) Consider your listener
6) Don't complain on social media
7) Let it go

Seriously. Some people have an issue on here. Stop complaining!!!

If all you are going to do is bash ND, whine or complain, keep it to yourself. If you find yourself complaining about the same thing over & over again you have a mental health issue & you are damaging yourself.

Carry on.

Well, ^ that sounded a lot like you are complaining about complainers; and it sounds as if you are defining complainers as persons that disagree with your opinions in specific or any opinion in general.
And it probably took you ~ 15 minutes to formulate and post that; so you have about 15 minutes of complaing left today to avoid classification as 'brain damaged'.
Commenting about person expressing an opinion(complaint to you) is the same as persons commenting about persons with weak opinions or no opinion at all.
Entire professions do nothing but express opinion; are they all brain damaged?
(They ought look for other explanation for their brain discovery)

( for the record, I know you are a Dad/ grandpa(?) and love kids; so while I think your generalization is over simplified, As I mentioned before, anyone that loves kids can't be 'bad' at heart!)

And to go to OSU all you need is a pulse. Any jackass can go to OSU or Michigan, who the f--- cares about you?

College football is an undergraduate sport, last time I checked.
The way you guys talk about ND and down other quality university's one would think that this simply would be impossible for any program at an opposing institution.

Did OSU get accredited yet?
We ain't come to play school... From your Rhode scholar QB Cardale Jones

As my dad always said, "son if you can't go to college, at least go to Ohio State."

I don't really have a problem with Ohio State the university, it's all of it's jackass fans who think they created college football. Michigan fans are 1000 times better fans then OSU. BTW, OSU stadium is a God awful dump!

The difference is ND disciplines the kids whereas Urban makes them team Captain.

Do you guys live in your own world?

Please look at the off the field issues urban has had at OSU, not UF.. ND has had way more off the field issues than OSU has as of late. I mean last year you guys have 5 guys arrested on the same night in two separate incidents. Nice of you guys to allow Golston back in school after he cheated, I would think at ND that would be one of the ultimate "No-Nos".

And our stadium is a dump? Hmm said no one, regularly ranked as one of the top stadiums in cfb, but what do I know.
You know little. That is obvious.
"We ain't here to play school" Good stuff from OSU scholar Athletes!
