Plays opposite of Bosa, and is heading to the draft after this season. Caught by police on a dumb charge.

Adolphos Washington busted

**edited the title so that kybuckeye2's first post about firstly and secondly looks childish and we can laugh at him :)

honestly was just a typo and didn't catch it. But that isn't nearly as fun to say

They will find an excuse like they did with Barrett and probably hold this guy out for 2 plays, that is the way Urbie and Ohio works.

He will play. OSU does not do like ND and suspend players for a semester or year.

when did ND suspend a player for a semester or year for a civil misdemeanor? Maybe I missed it.
(Not sure I'd want to compare the 6-7 guys who committed academic fraud at a college of higher learning to a misdemeanor).

After Derrell Hand solicited a cop in August 2007 I believe he sat out the first 3 games...

Well, I cannot say because I cannot compare. It seems his offense was minimal. ND has shutdown quite a few players for academic offenses but who knows what they would do to a guy just out looking for a hooker.

How about Lou Holtz suspending 2 of our best players for being late?

'There's no excuse for anybody being late now, because everyone got a Cotton Bowl watch. That's why going to a bowl game was one of our goals: to make sure everybody would be on time.'' - Lou Holtz Tony Brooks and Ricky Watters were the two fastest players on the Notre Dame team.

"Brooks, a sophomore tailback from Tulsa, Okla., had been Notre Dame's leading rusher this season with 667 yards in 117 carries, a 5.7-yard average, and two touchdowns. Watters, a sophomore wide receiver from Harrisburg, Pa., had been its leading pass-catcher with 15 receptions for 286 yards, a 19.1 average and two touchdowns."

http://www.nytimes.com/1988/11/27/s...holtz-of-notre-dame-raps-the-gavel-again.html

PS "As a disciplinary judge and jury, Holtz had rapped his gavel again, just as he had rapped it as the Arkansas coach in 1977, his first season there, Shortly before the Razorbacks were to play Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl game, Holtz suspended three of his best players for breaking a team rule regarding dormitory visitors: two running backs, Ben Cowins and Michael Forrest, and Donny Bobo, a wide receiver. But the Razorbacks won that game, 31-6."

Who was the TE that was suspended for the year and transferred to UCLA. Might have been for skinny dipping.

Definitely ..... Getting what was deemed inappropriate help (cheating) on a term paper is a lot worse than committing crimes out in public .... Seriously? That's UM for ya .... They talk down ND even if it means sounding stupid

First of all, Washington is a DT, not a DE. Second, it is my expectation, based on what happened with Bosa at the beginning of the year and Barrett a few weeks ago, that he will serve a 1-game suspension. Washington will be leaving for the NFL after this season, but I think Meyer knows that he has to enforce the penalty for the younger players that will be coming back next year.

Not skinny dipping .....driving a golf cart across campus ..... Nude .... Could he have gotten off with a warning for that ? ... If he wouldn't have gotten suspended it would almost be funny

You see that kind of stuff from Canadian hockey players all the time

What were bosa/others suspended for?

What were bosa/others suspended for?

The official version is a violation of team rules -- the rumor in Columbus was reefer related.

Yeah, Bosa and several others were busted for "violation of team policy" right before the VT game. They all served a 1-game suspension. Barrett was busted for a DWI and also served a 1-game suspension.

Come on, you guys have to know. Even when that is sold about ND players, those in the know still find out what it is and blab it out.

Yep, once you put pot in the search this popped up. I hope we go straight at bosa with fresh bodies. "We must break him...."

"Update: ESPN's Joe Schad reports that the athletic department policy suspensions are due to issues involving "marijuana and academics."

Don't know about 1 semester. But they did just finish suspending 6 players for a full year for academic issues. One of those being the starting QB, along with a preseason all american starting CB, a starting WR, a 2 deep safety, a 2 deep DE and a 5th year LB.

But no I can't tell you the last time a player was suspended for just a semester.

It was never revealed, but the general speculation/rumor is that it was weed.

ND has had their own problems with that. Lost a TE under Weis for it. And just lost a RB (Bryant) that was rumored to be having issues with it. 'Violation of Teams Rules' seems to be the generic way of saying that anymore.

Honestly though, sorry y'all might lose a player especially one this important just before a big game. Sucks for everyone.

It is what it is. He could break a leg on the first play of the game. Next man up.

Kind of like Tommy Rees and Carlo Calabrese when they were arrested right? Oh thats right, they only sat out 1 game.
Kung fu tommy..... his sister was a better brawler....Rees' inability to outleg sb's finest is an indictment of our S&C program. Sadly, that's not as bad as our guys getting caught by campus security....yeatman, fauria.....

Here is a photo of the prostitute Adolphus got busted for:

If this was a Notre Dame student, he'd be suspended for not writing that apology. Then they'd deal with the hooker situation

I was just going to bring this up. They got two games btw, which I think is about right. They were at a party where minors were drinking (although they were not minors and sr's), and fled then resisted arrest. Not that it's good, but I think it's less on the scale than soliciting prostitutes. So, will Urban do 1 game, we'll see.

Not to mention cierre wood for weed even though he was never caught by police-2 games. Greg Bryant was 2 games too this year, again before he was arrested by any police. Seems NDs record in this regard on player punishment is fairly strong. We'll see what urbs does. His track record at uf is well, weak.

Really? Why did you skip the part where Rees kicked a cop? Why did you skip the part where calabrese threatened the cops with "my people"....? Check the charges that were dropped....funny how that works....... Also, both played in game 2 vs purdue....

I didn't say I liked what happened. they were punished by losing 20% of their sr season and likely cost each any shot at starting as well. I'd agree they should have had charges filed but that isn't on nd coaches to yay/nay.

Honestly, I am surprised ND did not do more in that case. Not that it deserved more than a couple game suspension but ND doesn't take infractions lightly. I do not think what the OSU player did was terrible because even solicitation involves consent from both parties. I just suspected that UM would not take action with such a big game on the line.
