Ohio State has lost 6 times total in the last 6 years

I'm not sure Jack and Jenkins are aware of this, otherwise, they might dissolve the program right here and now. That would be a shame with the new Jumbo and all.

I can find moments in history that ND football was at their zenith and OSU was just chugging along, trying to keep up. There is an ebb and flow to this sports thing. Bama football was a collective zero just prior to hiring Saban. Now, they are successful. OSU has had their disappointing seasons too and not all that long ago. I don't care what "clever" comment is made on a message board. I'm excited to see the new 2017 Irish without any negativity clouding my judgement before the damn season even starts.

I agree, Toby! I'm looking forward to seeing what Elko can do with the defense, if the O-line can finally live up to its billing, will the run game be successful and how will BW shake out as a starter?

Yea man. I remember around 2010 idk why but I thought O$U would never be able to compete with $EC. Coaching is everything

Kelly never gives the O-Line a chance to mesh early and dominate on the ground.

Those are two state schools with the best coaches ever. They are also allowed to recruit at different levels. It's completely different than what ND is going through. ND has decided that 8-4 is the norm and I'm fine with that. It's been 25 years since we've seen them win a major bowl. I just think this return to glory talk needs to cease and just let the program be.

Don't agree 23. ND just spent $400mm on the campus/stadium. They are in the process of upgrading the football facilities. This doesn't sound like an administration that has decided 8-4 is the norm. The return to glory talk is what college football is all about. Who was it that said (paraphrasing) "We will never be perfect. But if we strive for perfection, we will achieve excellence"? They named the Super Bowl trophy after him. Don't give up 23. Anybody can do that. Kelly has certainly made mistakes, but he has also gone 12-1 and 10-3. Let's hope we see more of these in the future vs the 8-4s. I won't mention the 4-8 season. Another one of those and I think we will be talking about another head coach. Go Irish!!

OSU's strength of Schedule is putrid.

This poster is obviously a troll. Remove this goof

2016

Ohio State SOS 6th
Notre Dame SOS 38th

Ohio State helped by getting to the post season and getting destroyed by the eventual NC, but still...

That's right. OSU was destroyed but we still have to hear about the BCS title game against Bama like it is the only time it ever happened.

We need to get off this. You guys talk about academics then we lose to duke and you guys want people to be fired.
Losing to Duke in basketball is one thing ....you really think they are a football juggernaut? Stanford seems to be doing ok.

Note Dame lost 8 last year alone.

I think it's clear that Stanford and Duke have surpassed ND in football. Heck, Northwestern is better. I don't think they are looking back either.

tOSU ?...?
Urban?

what about
academics? scandels and suspensions?
what about vacating W's
what about off field incidents? arrests / disturbances?
what about indirect program related tragedy?
what about displays of disloyalty? betrayals?
what about big game beatdowns?

Sure if you just factor in W/L record, you go with Urban, but when you consider all the above achievements,
nah, ....! stay the course!

You needed to add Urban's dalliance with his secretary at FLA which led to his "medical" break. He is a great leader of young men!
