With one week in the books we collectively underestimated the ND defense and/or overestimated the UT offense. I don't care which, it was a beautiful sight to behold!

This week:

ND -- 42
UVA -- 13

Week 1 to week 2 usually brings the most improvement on a good team. It is on the road, however, and their may be a slight let down after a big opening win on primetime. I'm not sure why that leads me to my score prediction...

Who do you have and why?

A dog fight or a blow out. All depends on the ND Pass Protection. UVA and Tenuta play defense that is most similar to the style run by Graham at ASU, pressure all the time from everywhere. In 2013 Tommy Rees in conjunction with the OL picked up all the blitzing and ND scored a bunch of points. Last year the QB and Folston/Bryant struggled with the blitz pickup during the 1st half and the QB as usual spit the ball all over the field. Henceforth ND was down 30 something to 3. UVA does not have ASU's fire power on offense.

ND appears to have the OL in top form, Zaire appears to actually be aware of his surroundings but the new Running Backs scare the heck out of me. If ND misses some blitz pick ups and spits the ball out. They could be in for a dog fight on the road

Agree with Florida... I'm anxious to see how well the running backs have learned the playbook and how well they pick up the blitz. Based on Kelly's comments, Adams has excelled in this for a true freshman, and I thought Procise did a good job against a blitzing Texas team, but Saturday should give us a better sense for how badly Folston and his blocking will be missed.

ND - 35

Cav - 10

Robinson 1 TD
CJ Procise has 150+ total yards offense
Malik has 7 carries for 40ish yards
Defense tallies 3 sacks

I'll be interested to see if ACC refs continue to flag ND at the high rate we saw in 2014. In the four ACC games in 2014, ND committed almost double the amount of penalties compared to the non-ACC games. To be fair, our ACC opponents last season also committed a higher number of penalties in those four games. So maybe ACC refs are trained differently.

The weather forecast is calling for afternoon thunderstorms and they tend to create choppy, uneven performances by both teams. ND wins, but its closer than it should be, similar to the Purdue game last year. ND 30 - UVA 19.

Perfect letdown game after the high of last Saturday and a big game with G. Tech looming. Vegas knows this and set the line relatively low.

ND 27
UVA 17

This week will say a lot about the focus of this team.

I don't think Virginia scores more than twice, unless they get a defensive TD. Barring injuries, I am going to say ND 41 Virginia 10. ND had three drives on Saturday in which they didn't get points because they shot themselves in the foot or missed a FG. I don't think that happens in week two. ND is very experienced as well. Being on the road isn't going to make a difference one way or another.

The weather may play a factor. The chance has fluctuated but now it's at a 90% chance of thunderstorms. Hope it changes, would prefer not to sit out in the rain all day for my first ND game. But it is what it is, Go IRISH!

Zaire controls the game with his running, surpasses 100 yards while passing for 200. ND up 31-7 but Kelly leaves him in during the 4th qtr. Zaire gets season ending injury. Kelly blames Brindza. Season over!

Notre Dame 48 to 14 over Virginia. Why? Because Notre Dame is a much better team.

Love your avatar Sharkfan !

Samardzija is my favorite player of all time for ND for many reasons!! You don't find competitors like him every day

I say 42-9 because I think tenuta will blitz like crazy in the first half to test our young rbs at being able to pass protect and malik will make him pay hitting our wrs down the field for big plays. I see fuller having a field day with a 200 plus yds receiving day thanks to tenuta and his constant blitzing
