Totally disagree. Playing a base defense with a few blitzes exposes the back end. Now they are adding some pressure and the d is looking a lot better. They are breaking on the ball and in the right spots. That is what matters in spring.
I think we're seeing the TR effect on Wimbush with 2 picks already.
Wimbush isn't gonna be a pure pocket passer anytime soon. The format isn't in his favor with the red jersey, but book is encouraging.
They don't look physical, especially against the run. They see this offense and plays everyday but it doesn't feel like they have seen these plays before. I understand they have to be vanilla and not aggressive towards the QB.
The lines are not challenging each other at all just playing straight up with an occasional Blitzer. I actually like that the back end is actually trying to wrap on each play. Haven't seen near as many shoulder or arm tackles. Still a few misses which is bad, but the angles and the tackling is much better. I'm encouraged. Second team secondary is wayyy too loose.
Better figure out the RT position!! At least 3 sacks given up on that side.
I do like Boykin and the running backs but Wimbush is making some more poor decisions while knowingly under very little pressure. I think with the first team defense a couple of D lineman could get pressure on the QB.
Balis has done a good job in weight room. No player looks out of shape.
They are obviously challenging wimbush to stay in the pocket from the second series on. If you look at the first series you see roll outs and options that will most likely be closer to the offense they will be running. From second series on they are pushing him to make reads and get through progressions.
Yes starting RT as of now. They said eichenberg and kraemer are competing but I call bs
I like what I am seeing from all 3 running backs and Ian Book.
Am I the only one that thinks Williams always looks better than Adams in spring? Adams is so patient it makes him look slow and Williams just goes.
Wish Kelly wouldve given Book an opportunity with 1st team in 2nd half just to get a look at what he could do.
He looks to be... a lot of double pumping and hesitant at times. Some of his throws in the pocket are late getting out. Makes ya wonder what hes going to do when he actually starts getting hit.
