Everybody knows how good the defense is, but over the last month or so of the season, its been the development of the offense that has catapulted ND to the top of the rankings and ND now has a legit top 10 offense to match their elite defense (OF+ is 8th, DF+ is 3rd)

Freeman should be extended ASAP. Freeman should be given whatever he asks. Freeman may even have MORE UPSIDE THIS IS ONLY HIS 3RD YEAR OF BEING A HEAD COACH! O.O He may be the next Urban Meyer. Recruits are SLEEPING ON HIS ABILITY TO DEVELOP THEM. 5-star talent should be banging on NDs door to get on the roster.

Many many many seasons year after year in the past the ND hype was way above the actual production/results (and you had me here posting about it to remind you) but that is no longer the case. ND is actually being underrated (and have been for most of the 2nd half of the season)

ND is a legit tier 1 team in 2024. They are here. They have arrived. They are actually competing for a national title in the year 2024. And not in a "haven't lost as many times as the competition" kind of way .. but their raw production -- even with adjustments to opponent quality and luck -- is about as good as anybody in the country this season.

My point is that this year is not like those years.

I'm not totally sure about this actually, but I think the F+ formula is about who is the best team, not like, who the most deserving team is. So the W/Ls don't matter. Obviously if you keep losing, the computer's not going to think you're that good anymore. But it's not about who should be given the most praise and respect because they earned it with their victorious performance on the field, which is pretty much all the human rankings are. It's just who is the best, most forimidable team, based on a critical and shrewd analysis of the data, certainly not limited to W/Ls, and they may not even be that important a data point. Like if you had to play a team from Mars, to save the earth, who would give you the best chance of winning. Don't care about what their record is just give me the best team.

So that's why tOSU could still be #1 right after suffering an agonizing loss. But I'm sure you probably already knew all this.
