Agree with 2684. Its our D that scares me and prevents me from being confident of a ND victory.

Our O can move the ball and score ... but Kelly has a tendency to either take his foot off the gas and let the D screw up, or take unnecessary gambles on O and screw up.

We don't have the defense to "destroy" MSU. MSU is a rivalry and you can take a lot of stats and throw them out the window. Remember, they beat Ohio State just last year. This is by no mean a gimmie.

Todd Lyght should be coaching for his job. The secondary play at times last year and the Texas game this year was atrocious. All DB's get beat, but coverage busts are mental and unforced errors.

Even Nevada's only score last week came on a complete coverage bust. ND would be better off playing one or two coverage's perfectly (No busts or mental errors) than trying to play 6 or 7 coverage's mediocre.

Keep the ball in front of you and tackle cleanly. The secondary play may not be great this year but the secondary should be getting better. The secondary improved from Week 1 to Week 2. The question answered this week will be was it improved play or a weaker opponent. Probably a combination of both.

all I know I that we need this win for many reasons but one of the big reasons is because we 50 plus receruits from the 2017, 18, 19 classes coming in for officials and unofficials for this game and we need to show them in person that we can not only compete with top ten teams but beat them on the big stage under the lights. btw I don't have a whole list yet but two of the top five CBs from the 17 class in for officials and to of the top five CBs from the 18 and both from Georgia coming in Saturday also for unofficials. a chance for our defense to somehow to impress four top five rated CBs

Their running game is going to be difficult for our defense to stop, so the game will come down to that versus the ND passing game.

I figure a 28-24 score but I can see that going either way.

8-4 will be a good year. But it looks more likely we'll see 6 or 7 losses this season.

In 6 seasons Kelly has averaged 4 losses per season. That is a pretty good sample. Why should we expect anything different? It is what it is. The administration should be ashamed of what ND football has become. No coach can win a NC at ND. Unless things change. And they won't.
