Notre Dame football plans to welcome several prospects in the 2026 recruiting class on Saturday for unofficial visits during the Wake Forest game. The full list of commits, targets and prospects expected can be found on our running visitors list thread.
The Irish extended an invitation to 2026 tight end prospect Brady Shust this weekend. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound tight end attends Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's. Shust already has four offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
I spoke with Shust on Thursday evening to get his thoughts before his Notre Dame trip this weekend.
On his feelings before visiting Notre Dame :
"I am super pumped up to have the opportunity to visit Notre Dame this weekend having it being my first Notre Dame game ever," Shust told Inside ND Sports. "The things I would most look forward to seeing are the Play Like A Champion sign, facilities and The Word of Life Mural."
On what he wants to learn about on Saturday:
"On this visit, I want to learn about the academics, football program, and how the atmosphere is on campus. This way I can make the best decision for me to be successful on and off the field."
On what he brings to the tight end position:
"Physical and Athletic. I am big enough and strong enough to block defensive linemen and athletic enough to run all of my routes as a receiver ... having the best of both worlds."
Shust is also a Division I baseball prospect. He said it's a goal of his to play both in college but understands he might have to pick one to primarily focus on. He does not have a favorite of the two at this time.
