Just got done talking with Arlington (Texas) Lamar High four-star quarterback and Texas commit Shane Buechele at Elite 11. He was asked by another reporter – not me – if any other schools were recruiting him and he mentioned Notre Dame right away.
"Nobody really," he said "Notre Dame kind of, um, but I'm a Longhorn."
He then went on to explain his contact with the Irish.
"I have talked to [offensive coordinator Mike Sanford] a little bit, but he came to my spring practice and I talked to him, and we have hit each other a couple of times on social media, but like I said, I'm a Longhorn."
Buechele is ranked as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the country and is a Rivals250 prospect.
