St. Joseph (Mich.) four-star defensive end Corey Malone-Hatcher says that he will be in South Bend next weekend for an unofficial visit.
Malone-Hatcher, who is one of Notre Dame's top targets next cycle, has been linked to Michigan the past few weeks, but he said Friday, that the Irish are right there with the Wolverines.
"I like those two teams a lot," he said. "Obviously I still have to be open with my recruitment, I got a lot of time left and a lot of schools I have yet to see, but I definitely have interest in both of those schools and I just look forward to seeing what happens with my recuitment."
My take ..
I had heard a few weeks ago from multiple people that CMH was close to committing to Michigan, and while I think that might have actually been the case, I don't think a decision is immeneint now that he has talked things over with his family.
CMH is well aware that next week will be crazy for him with college coaches allowed to formally contact juniors for the first time, and he mentioned that a number of Ohio State coaches have already followed him on Twitter. In my eyes that means he wants this recruitment to play out some more.
The good news for Notre Dame is that the family has a strong relationship with assistant coach Keith Gilmore and they continue to want to see campus.
