No one expects ND to beat UK

But, if ND gets that far i think they have a chance. UK is a much better version of North Carolina but, did you notice how they fell apart during ND's run. I don't think UK has been challenged the way ND can if they are playing their best. If so the young UK players could get frazzled. Just saying it's possible.

ND can beat anyone if they shoot 50+% from 3 and make their FT's. The question is, can they play at a high level for 6 straight games. They can't have scoring droughts like they had against Miami.

I think the short answer is no, but it will be fun to watch them try.

No one expected ND to upset 29-0 San Francisco or 88 win streak UCLA....stuff happens and when it does it adds to the ND legend!

This talk reminds me of how no one on this board gave ND football a chance against LSU.

Well, let's just cancel the tournament now...why waste everyone's time?

I would be very happy if we were PLAYING Kentucky. We will only have a chance to beat them if we get there!

Kentucky can beat Kentucky and that's what I'm banking on if we play them. Them falling behind early, fouling us, we hit our free throws and threes. it's a long shot but I've seen crazier shit happen in sports. Tough playing from behind if you've never done it.

I too will be happy if they just get there.

If Brey gets ND to the Elite 8 it will be a miracle. Maybe somebody else nocks off the big dogs.

The coach doesn't get you to the elite 8, the players do. The coach puts you in your best position to win, the players are the ones who do, or don't, get it done.

ND has had a great year. Kudos to you all. But Mike Brey's record in the tourney is what it is. 15 years at ND and the guy has made it past the first weekend only once. 1 sweet 16 appearance (and loss) in 15 years. That's hard to imagine and is one of the worst records of any major D1 head coach. Before I got too excited about playing UK, I'd worry about about Butler or Texas. Not a flame, just a fact.

Thanks for the interest.

I like our draw. Who knows? Anything can happen in this tournament. My bracket history consistently reflects that. Should we go up against Kentucky, I would be concerned about their depth vs. ours and our legs at that point. The fact we are a veteran team that can win scrappy games if we need to is a plus. I'd really like to see this game, but then again, I would also like to see us win the national championship. We'll see......have to get out of the first two rounds for a change.

Walmartvines must have a lot of time on their hands considering they missed the post season in both football and basketball now.

Guessing Blue is wearing his Kentucky jacket today instead of his Michigan blue and maize.

Fans speculate about possible match ups, so what? The dance mantra is survive and move on, and that's what Irish fans hope ND does on Thursday night.

.........like Irish fans aren't aware of Brey's tourney record?

Yeah, your post is a subtle flame. (and that's a fact)

So typical of this place. Same as during football season. Worrying about Kentucky when you have to beat Northeastern then Texas/Butler then Wichita ST/Kansas before it even happens.I'd be way more worried about those games.

Syd, i said if ND gets that far. My posts on ND bb and Brey. Well they have not been positive. Had ND lost to Miami i would have expected a one and done. Now i'm dreaming just a little. ND needs a couple tourney wins or the talking heads will say the ACC tournament was a fluke. I would really like to see ND get some respect and i have not been much of a Brey fan in a while. But, lets see what the next couple years bring. This could be fun.

That's kinda my point. So concerned with their previous performances in tourney I don't even want to talk about the round of 32 let alone the elite 8. I misread your post and thought you were getting the cart ahead of the horse.

It just take one off night, or us to play on of our best games. I would still rather be in any other bracket. We would be a shoe in for the FF.

you guys have a great team a little undersized but a threat to anyone,Kentucky will have to play well if we meet .congrats on a great season
