On a rare Tuesday nights game, the Irish posted a 2-1 overtime victory over Northern Michigan at the Compton Family Ice Arena. Cal Burke netted the game winner, his team high eighth goal of the year, on the power play 1:06 into the extra frame to seal the victory.

Freshman Alex Steeves put the Irish on the board with 44.8 seconds left in the first period to give the Irish 1-0 lead, but Northern Michigan scored on the power play with 21 seconds to go in the middle second period. In the third period the Irish outshot the visitors 15-3 but couldn't find the back of the net, forcing the OT.

Just 36 seconds into OT, a Northern Michigan penalty put ND into the power play situation — where it had been 0-for-6 on the night compared to 1-for-2 by its opponent — before Burke capitalized.
Junior goaltender Cale Morris made 18 saves in Tuesday night's victory over the Wildcats.

Atte Tolvanen finished the night with 34 saves on 36 shots for Northern Michigan, while Cale Morris had 18 saves for Notre Dame.

The Irish will return to Compton Family Ice Arena for a weekend series against Rensselaer (RPI) this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 30 - Dec. 1) as they conclude a stretch of three home games in five days. Last season, the two teams met in Troy, New York where the Irish swept the Engineers. Morris allowed just one goal on 61 shots in the weekend series to give Notre Dame the sweep (4-1, 1-0 OT).
