One of the side effects of BVG's weekly scheme installation was the team didn't have time to practice tackling fundamentals, and our tackling sucked over the past several years. Great to read that this was a focus at practice, and not surprising to read that most of our DBs took poor angles and were rarely in position to deliver a hit, and the offensive players were routinely running through arm tackles. Doubt this was an issue with Nicco. The kid knows how to deliver a driving hit, and will be a force on ST, and I think he'll see the field against running teams. He is a major cover liability.

He plays the game the right way, but will get more than his share of BS targeting calls because he hits so hard and sends bigger guys backward and down like a sack. Review officials should have reversed the call against Nicco.

A ruffian???

Football is a contact sport. Football is a violent sport. Everyone on the field is a ruffian!!!
That being said, some are more "intense" on the field than others. I would think safety is one of those positions that require intensity. As long as NF plays within the rules, his hitting and intimidation can be very beneficial to our team.

Not sure if he would be a good starter but no question he brings the pain. Not many guys on the defense hit with that kind of attitude.

Always liked teams who hit like that then just got up and walked away as if, yeah, I will do that every time, no need to cut down the nets, line 'er up.

20 years ago his hits were legal. He's going to get flagged a lot now. I love his enthusiasm but he's probably going to get himself hurt too. The hit on Ware last year was pretty cheap

His hit on the kickoff against Army in San Antonio was similar. He brings it!

Morgan did a nice job on that place also of coming across the line and tacking on the USC OL and sticking him versus standing back and absorbing the hit.

It's a joke he was flagged for the USC hit and Torii Hunter gets knocked out against Texas and no flag. Kinda like the Clemson game winning touchdown vs. Notre dame game winning touchdown against FSU.
