Notre Dame has extended an offer to Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland four-star athlete JaCoby Stevens. Stevens, who is being recruited as a safety, said he spoke to Irish recruiting coordinator Mike Elston on Wednesday, and that's when he learned that he had a scholarship offer.
"I talked to him today over the phone, I called them and we were just talking, and they said they watched my film and thought I should have an offer, so they wanted to give me one," Stevens said. "I mean it's big, just knowing that I can play at a school with so much history like Notre Dame is amazing."
The 6-2, 199-pound Stevens said Notre Dame is recruiting him as a safety. He holds other offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Penn. State, Tennessee and Stanford, but said that he has no leaders at the time.
"I don't know about visiting this summer, but I want to get out there for a game this season."
